Thirty Four (cont')

Dadda's birthday was definitely Dadda's day.  He chose Famous Dave's BBQ for lunch, and then we had another dose of barbecue for dinner from Bert's Chuckwagon, a new foodtruck in Dundee. Dadda was in sweet and spicy heaven!  Before the girls' naps we sang Happy Birthday, followed by homemade chocolate cake and greek frozen yogurt.  Dadda humored us all by letting McKinley feed him a small bite of both. After Momma's cross country practice Dadda opened his present (a steel carbon wok), and we had another round of cake and frozen yogurt. Unbeknownst to us, McKinley was getting hyped up on caffeine from the cup of strong-brewed coffee that was in the cake.  So, while Dadda and I planned to spend a quiet evening watching Master Chef, McKinley thwarted those plans, and we all didn't get to sleep until after 10 pm (3 hours past her bedtime).

Happy Birthday to my better half and older half....at least for another 9 days.

  1. Looks like fun! I'm hoping your birthday celebration was a blast, too. Happy belated birthday, Son! I have to admit, I was thinking of you ALL day, but never made it to the keyboard to send an official wish. Hoping to see pictures of your bash soon...
