Mother's Day 2013

Benji had to work on Sunday, so we celebrated a little early by going to another breakfast joint in McMinnville, called the Crescent Cafe.  It was a little more upscale than the Wildwood Cafe and had a very limited menu, but the food was amazing!  Benji had their chicken hash, I ordered the egg scramble special, and the girls shared some banana pancakes. Yum! Then the girls worked off their breakfast at the park a few blocks away.

A couple pics before church.

Thank you Gramma & Grampa C. for our nifty, new, spring dresses!

3 kiddos, 3 and under

Yep, that's right.  Things have been a bit crazy for the past month because we are pregnant with our third child.  And he or she is expected to arrive around November 30th.  Although, I have a dating ultrasound at the end of May, so things could change.  But as of right now, I believe I'm 11 weeks along.  I've been maintaining my current Crossfit schedule, three days a week, but I've already had to scale back on weight and intensity.  I've experienced some pretty excruciating back pain after a couple of my workouts, but overall, exercising definitely makes me feel better and takes away the nausea momentarily.  Our net pre-natal appointment is June 14, so expect another update then.

Very first ultrasound on April 25. We got to see the heartbeat!

And we're back!

It's been a crazy, past couple of weeks.... But more on that later.  Summer finally feels like it's here to stay.  We've had temperatures in the 70's and 80's, especially the past few days.  I don't think we've eaten lunch or dinner inside since it's gotten hot.  The girls have been enjoying getting wet. And some of the pictures below capture their inaugural boat pool party.  Yesterday we celebrated DeLisa Thomas graduating from George Fox with dinner at Abella's Italian Kitchen.  DeLisa has been watching the girls during my cross country season ever since McKinley was 8 months old.  We are gonna miss her so much!  But, she's leaving us a wonderful replacement... her younger sister, Ruthie.

Piper sports Dadda's bike helmet.

McKinley tea-parties with her Sheepies and Baby Belle.

McKinley shows us textbook technique and from in the squat snatch.

Great lock-out and hip extension!

Piper attempts the same movement.

The thirty-foot slide finally opens at Schaad Park.

Swing time at the park.

The pool party commences after an orange popsicle snack.

The following series shows a little game the girls made up.  First they would get up on the boat. Then McKinley would wait for Piper to count to three. She can't really count to three, but the intonation and hand movements are the same.  Then they would jump in the water, which usually ended in a face-plant for Piper.

More cooling off with one of Dadda's berry sprinklers.

DeLisa and the girls.

Ruthie and DeLisa with McKinley and Piper.  Have a great summer in D.C.!

A little photo shoot before church.
