Lately

A lot has happened since Tessa's two-month update.  And lately, we've been trying our best to soak it all in.  We enjoyed watching the Super Bowl together, and I was pretty excited to finally drink a diet Dr. Pepper as my thirty days of eating clean had come to an end.  The very next day, we dropped Dadda off at the hospital for his knee surgery, while the girls and I took a trip to Ikea to kill time.  Dadda's meniscus repair went really well, and we were pretty blessed to see him right before he went to the operating room and talk to him as soon as he awoke from the anesthesia.  Then we got the greatest gift of all when it snowed for three days with about eight inches of accumulation.  Although Dadda wanted badly to go outside and play with the girls, Momma enjoyed helping them build a family of snowmen and an ice castle.  Dadda's week of recovery is coming to an end, but we sure had a blast being together as a family.

Our daily ritual of getting bundled up to walk to the mailbox.

Sister snuggles!

Our Super Bowl menu included guacamole, bean & cheese dip, and paleo chili. Yum!

Tessa shows some love for the Legion of Boom.

Pre-op.

No post-op pictures at the hospital (after all the waiting, we just wanted to get home), but here's a picture from the morning after.  Piper had just finished performing knee surgery on Kaylee, McKinley's bear.

Tessa and Dadda get some major quality time together on the couch.

Staying warm with hot apple cider.

I think Piper ate the most snow during the three days they went outside to play.

Tessa bundles up for a quick picture during the snow storm.

Our first snowman.  On a side note: Why is McKinley making a funny face or sticking out her tongue in almost every picture?

The finished ice castle.

Mickey Mouse and the family of snowmen.

Dadda built them a fort to watch some tv.

  1. Way to go, Momma! Lovin' Piper's surgery & all the pics of you and your girls. Hoping Benji's knee is on the mend.
