This year I thrifted
and borrowed costumes for the girls to go trick-or-treating. I found Piper's ladybug costume at a local children's consignment shop but made her wings and leggings, and McKinley's Navy cheerleading outfit is from her cousins, Lizzie and Abby. Yesterday, it was raining cats and dogs, but it let up, giving us just enough time after dinner to walk around our neighborhood. McKinley made an adorable cheerleader and didn't quite understand the protocol. She would knock on a door, the neighbors would open the door, and she would just stand there. After being prompted, "what do you say," she would enthusiastically yell "candy please" or "hi." Pretty darn cute! Once we were back home, she quickly picked out her tootsie pop, as the
one treat she could eat. Piper, on the other hand, was content biting her Milky Way with the wrapper still on....except when we tried to take away an empty Dots box (see below).
Dadda was dressed as the Falcon's #1 fan.
McKinley poses in the beautiful, fallen, red leaves.
One neighbor had carved a masterful, Mickey pumpkin.
Piper clutches her Milky Way.
The girls enjoy their loot.
Momma decided to don her mother's old, velvet, three-piece suit....and received many compliments.
Time for bed!
