We attended our annual Naval Academy alumni picnic a couple of days ago. It's hosted every summer by Jack Kohl '65 at his beautiful home in Lake Oswego. The picnic was originially for Blue and Gold officers, to celebrate all the hard work they do in recruiting the nation's finest to choose USNA. But it has morfed into the alumni event of the year, where current midshipman and prospective midshipman and their families are invited, as well as all alumni and their families. We have attended 3 times in the past four years, and always enjoy shooting the breeze with fellow grads and eating Jack's barbeque.
Pre-picnic: posing in our navy-inspired attire with Bill the Goat.

Piper looks dapper in her sailor dress, and surprisingly wore the sailor hat the entire picnic.
McKinley munches on chocolate cake.
Momma couldn't resist the multitude of homeade desserts and had to try each one.
