Summer in KY {Part 3 ~ Country Love Farm}
Our trip to Kentucky wouldn't be complete without spending some time with my Grandparents, who retired here over thirty years ago. Some of my fondest childhood memories are from the summer vacations we took to their Country Love Farm: riding horses, collecting eggs, playing with kittens, feeding the cows, and much more. Every animal had a name, and was cared for like a family member. Even though there are no more animals, with the exception of some cows, the grounds are the same. And I couldn't wait to take my girls to the farm and show them around. We also visited our friend, Shelia, at her home and fed her donkey peppermints.
Summer in KY {Part 2 ~ Ark Encounter}
My mom & dad rented a twelve-passenger van while we were in KY, and we used it to visit the Ark Encounter near Cincinnati. The Ark Encounter features a full size, Noah's Ark built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Inside the Ark were three decks filled with stunning exhibits about Noah & his family, the animals, the Flood, dinosaurs and everything else to give you a glimpse into Noah's life onboard the Ark. Outside the Ark, we walked around the Ararat Ridge Zoo, petting animals and even taking a ride on a camel. Such a fun experience! I know we'll be back once Landon gets a little older.

Summer in KY {Part 1 ~ Home}
Although summer is long gone, we had a blast in Kentucky this past August! Our trip marked the first time my family and my brother's family were together in the Bluegrass state since my parents retired there over seven years ago. And for our first morning together, we were greeted by a runaway pig. We spent the majority of our time relaxing at my parent's house, while the girls had fun in the basement rummaging through my old Barbie dolls. We also squeezed in some Crossfit workouts, boat rides in the lake, walks down the country road, a water balloon fight, and a trip to the pool.
