McKinley just wrapped up her first month of CrossFit for Kids. And she loves it! So much, that we're signing her up for the month of May. The class is taught by Maria Acosta, and the kids meet every Tuesday & Thursday. Maria is an elementary school gym teacher, a CrossFit coach/trainer, and is
super amazing with the kids. The format of the class is identical to what us parents do during a CrossFit session. They begin with a warm-up, learn a new skill and/or strength, and then complete a WOD (workout of the day) centered around the new skill. If there's extra time, they play a game or read books to each other. I
love watching McKinley perform the same exercises and stretches I am accustomed to doing at CrossFit.
Lunge stretch.
