Another pumpkin patch

One of the many fall festivities to enjoy are pumpkin patches.  We decided to check out French Prairie Gardens in St. Paul. They focus on providing a country experience during their harvest festival, which includes the Pigtucky Derby, hay maze and slide, farm animal display, and their famous apple cider doughnuts.

Thank you Gramma & Grampa C.

Gramma & Grampa Campoamor's visit

My parents drove their motorhome from Alaska to Kentucky, where it will remain on my Grandparent's property until it is sold or turned into a temporary home while my parent's dream house is being built.  So...on their way back to AK, they popped in for a couple days.  Benji was able to take a day off work, so we decided to drive the Fruit Loop.  We began our adventure at Multnomah Falls Lodge for their all-you-can-eat Sunday champagne brunch.  After stuffing our faces and snapping a few shots by the waterfall, we headed to Hood River.  We had a beautiful view of Mt. Hood at Panorama Point, then spent a couple hours at PumpkinLand at Rasmussen Farm.  On our way home, we drove to Timberline Lodge.  We had an amazing day, and McKinley was quite the trooper spending so much time in her car seat.

9 Months

Miss McKinley Ruth officially turned nine months old the same day her grandparents came into town.  A couple days later, she had a check-up with Dr. Rollin.  We were surprised how much weight she had gained in the past month; she tipped the scales at 17 lbs, 4 oz.  She measured 28.5 inches and didn't cry during her flu shot. Dr. Rollin was amazed at her clapping and waving.  Overall, she was pleased with her progress.  These pictures were taken in St. Paul where a friend's neighbor had a 610 lb pumpkin at the end of his driveway.
What a face!

Sneak Peek!

Just a quick picture of McKinley with her Grandparents. We had a wonderful time and are so grateful they came to visit, even if it was only for a couple of days!  Hopefully I will post something more in depth this weekend....

Champoeg Invitational

Newberg Cross Country has hosted the Champoeg Invitational for 38 years.  The kids always enjoy running here, and with home turf advantage, they also run really well. In the past three years I've been coaching, the weather has never been wetter and more miserable than it was last weekend.  Benji decided to run the open 5k race, which happened to be the last race of the day.  His finishing time exceeded my expectations, as well as our head coach, Bruce Sinkbeil. It was alot of fun cheering him on!

Sprinting the last 100 meters.

Way to go Dadda!
7th place finish ~ 21 min. 30 sec.

Nana & Boppy come to visit

McKinley finally got to meet her great grandparents (my mother-in-law's parents), who we affectionately refer to as Nana and Boppy.  We took them to Champoeg Park, where Oregon's first government was established, and they treated us to dinner at Famous Daves.  McKinley quickly warmed up to them and even started saying 'nanana' in the midst of 'mamamama'.

Spotted a beautiful crepe myrtle during our walk.

I love these shots (above and below) of McKinley with Nana & Boppy!!!
